Spain raises data on illegal immigrants: 80,000 influx.

Spanish officials updated on August 10 the estimated number of illegal immigrants involved in the recent Ceuta crisis, raising it from 72,000 to 80,000. The new data was announced by Spain's Minister of Territorial Policy, ngel Vctor Torres, during his inspection of Ceuta on the same day. The Spanish enclave of Ceuta is located on the Mediterranean coast of North Africa, near the Strait of Gibraltar, and borders Morocco. From the end of July to early August, a large number of illegal immigrants crossed from Morocco into Ceuta, triggering Spain's most serious border immigration crisis in recent years. Torres stated that this wave of illegal crossings primarily occurred on July 30, with the vast majority of illegal immigrants returning to Morocco within 24 to 48 hours. The latest data from Spain shows that 83 people lost their lives during the crossing.
