Earlier reports suggested that since Waller was confirmed as Federal Reserve Chairman in May, Trump had communicated with him several times, asking about Wallers forecasts and views on the economic outlook. Trump reiterated his desire to lower interest rates but stated that he is "100% supportive" of Waller and emphasized that Federal Reserve policy is determined collectively by the board.
