South Korea accelerates three major super projects, with Lee Jae-myung personally overseeing the rapid implementation of these projects.

After announcing an unprecedented massive investment plan in the semiconductor sector, the South Korean government further detailed the related projects on August 10. On the afternoon of the 10th, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung chaired a government meeting where he stated that measures should be accelerated to advance large-scale investment plans for semiconductor manufacturing facilities and artificial intelligence data centers. The Presidential Office indicated that this meeting is the second related meeting since the Lee Jae-myung administration unveiled the "Three Major Super Projects" at the end of June. The related plans include the establishment of semiconductor production clusters, the development of physical AI, and the construction of AI data centers in local areas. On June 29, Lee Jae-myung presided over the "Three Major Super Projects National Briefing," attended by executives from the two major chip giants, Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. The briefing officially launched a national industrial layout of approximately 200 trillion Korean won, focusing on three core areas: semiconductors, physical AI, and AI data centers. Meanwhile, the South Korean government and businesses also announced a total long-term investment of about 620 trillion Korean won in the aforementioned three fields.
