Bay developers invest heavily in naming rights, driving Trump's overseas brand licensing revenues to soar to $59.5 million.
In the first year of Trumps return to the White House, his overseas real estate brand licensing business experienced explosive growth. In 2025, this sector generated $59.5 million, as various overseas developers invested heavily to obtain licenses, branding local high-end residential buildings, golf courses, and seaside resort projects with the Trump name. According to media analyses of Trumps annual financial disclosure documents, the overseas licensing revenue generated from properties using the Trump brand name surged by 71% compared to 2024, nearly reaching ten times the scale of 2023. The core reason for this dramatic performance increase is that the Trump Organization overturned its previous commitment made during his first term of "not signing any new overseas partnerships." The ethical guidelines for Trumps second term prohibit significant new transactions with foreign governments but allow collaborations with private entities abroad. Four limited liability companies, not listed in his 2024 disclosure, which belong to the Trump brand licensing business, generated $20.25 million in 2025, contributing 82% of this revenue increase; an additional five previously marked as inactive licensing subsidiaries re-entered the books with $9.64 million.
