On August 10, 2026, at 12:00, the Flood Control and Drought Relief Command Center of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, in conjunction with the office of the Command Center for Weather Modification and Meteorological Disaster Prevention, jointly initiated a Level IV emergency response for flood control and a Level IV emergency response for heavy rainfall meteorological disasters, coordinating the deployment of preventive measures for this round of regional heavy precipitation. According to meteorological forecasts, starting from August 10, Inner Mongolia will experience a regional strong precipitation event moving from west to east. Areas of heavy rain are expected in the northeastern part of Alxa League, most of Bayannur City, the northern part of Ordos City to the northern and central parts of Chifeng City, the northwestern part of Tongliao City, and the eastern part of Xingan League, while strong rains are anticipated in the southern part of Bayannur City, the northeastern part of Ordos City, the central and southern parts of Baotou City, the northwestern part of Hohhot City, the central part of Ulaanqab City, the central and southeastern parts of Xilin Gol League, and the central part of Chifeng City, with localized heavy rains expected. The maximum cumulative precipitation during this event may reach 50-120 mm, and in some areas, it may exceed 150 mm.
