The National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration have issued the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Coal Industry." Among other points, it emphasizes the deep implementation of the "Artificial Intelligence +" initiative, strengthening the collection of artificial intelligence data in the coal sector, and promoting the systematic application of artificial intelligence in key scenarios such as exploration and design, construction and production, operation and maintenance, and safety management. It aims to accelerate the research and promotion of specialized large models for the coal industry, with a focus on breaking through key technological bottlenecks in intelligent perception, autonomous decision-making, and intelligent control. The plan calls for cultivating and establishing a number of pilot coal mines for integrated artificial intelligence applications to enhance the safety production levels of coal mines. Additionally, it promotes the intelligent transformation of mines with severe disaster risks and those that have experienced significant accidents, encouraging the use of robots to replace human labor in dangerous and heavy job positions.
