Zhumadian, Henan Province reported: Major criminal case suspect has been apprehended.

On August 8, the special task force for the 7.30 case in Zhumadian City issued a report. The suspect, Xia Mugang, in the 7.30 intentional injury case in Xiping County, Zhumadian City, had rented a house in the Houyuan Community of Baicheng Street in Xiping County to store miscellaneous items before the incident. On July 30, 2026, due to a trivial matter, he had a dispute with his neighbor Hou and subsequently stabbed him to death with a knife. During his escape, Xia Mugang injured several innocent people. Around 4 p.m. on August 8, 2026, the special investigation team for the "7.30" case apprehended suspect Xia Mugang in Kongzhugou Town, Yuanhui District, Luohe City. Relevant work is currently underway.
