The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has launched a Level 4 emergency response for flood prevention and typhoon preparedness in Jiangsu and Anhui.
On August 8, the National Defense General Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management organized a joint consultation with departments such as the China Meteorological Administration, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the Ministry of Transport, as well as provinces like Zhejiang, Fujian, Hebei, and other potentially affected areas, to assess the development trend of Typhoon "Bailang" and further study and deploy preventive and response measures. The National Defense General Office has initiated a Level 4 emergency response for flood control and typhoon prevention in Jiangsu and Anhui, maintained a Level 3 emergency response for flood control and typhoon prevention in Zhejiang and Fujian, and a Level 4 flood control emergency response in Heilongjiang. Work teams have been dispatched to assist and guide flood control and typhoon prevention efforts in Zhejiang and Fujian. The director of the National Defense General Office, Chen Min, who is also the vice minister of the Ministry of Emergency Management and the Ministry of Water Resources, presided over the consultation.
