The Ministry of Natural Resources has raised the geological disaster prevention response level in Zhejiang to Level III and initiated Level IV response in Anhui.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, based on forecasts from meteorological departments and evaluations from the Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, there is a high risk of geological disasters in parts of eastern Zhejiang and western Anhui in the next three days due to the influence of Typhoon "Bailang." At 12:00 on August 8, the Ministry of Natural Resources initiated a Level IV response for geological disaster prevention in Anhui and raised the response level in Zhejiang from Level IV to Level III, sending a working group led by bureau-level officials to Zhejiang to guide geological disaster prevention and response efforts. The Ministry of Natural Resources has urged the natural resources departments of Zhejiang and Anhui to enhance their risk awareness and sense of urgency, strengthen bottom-line thinking and extreme thinking, closely monitor the path and development of the typhoon, and give high priority to the prevention and response to geological disasters caused by the heavy rainfall from this typhoon. They should promptly organize inspections and investigations, effectively carry out monitoring and early warning, consult and evaluate, handle disaster situations, maintain duty and readiness, and report information; the China Geological Survey and the Geological Disaster Technical Guidance Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources will enhance consultations and evaluations, and coordinate stationed experts to fully assist local authorities in geological disaster prevention work.
