The discussions between the two sides on border issues and the release of detainees achieved "positive progress," and relevant measures are expected to be introduced in the near future. The parties involved will begin to address the remaining issues, including the ceasefire and "pilot areas." The "pilot area" mechanism originated from a trilateral framework agreement reached by Lebanon, Israel, and the United States at the end of June this year. According to the agreement, the Israeli army will withdraw from certain areas in southern Lebanon, with the Lebanese army taking over local security affairs.
