Recently, the price of lithium battery electrolyte additive vinylene carbonate (VC) has been continuously rising. According to Baichuan Yingfu data, as of August 6, the average price of domestic electrolyte additive VC is 230,000 yuan/ton, reflecting an increase of over 60% since June and a year-on-year rise of 400%. Several industry insiders have indicated that the supply-demand imbalance for VC is unlikely to change in the short term. Currently, the nominal total production capacity of the domestic VC industry exceeds 190,000 tons per year, but the effective supply capacity that can be reliably delivered is only about 110,000 tons per year. Last year, the overall operating rate of industry enterprises was relatively low, compounded by leading companies focusing on equipment maintenance, leading to a rapid decline in industry inventory.
