The world's first 16-megawatt tension leg floating wind power platform has officially been put into operation.

Today, reporters learned from CNOOC that the world's first 16-megawatt tension leg floating wind power platform, the "Haiyou Anlan," has successfully connected to the Lufeng oil field power grid, officially supplying green electricity directly to the offshore oil field. This marks a significant advance in China's deep-sea floating wind power equipment technology, placing it at the forefront globally and exploring a new technological route for offshore wind power development in the country. The tension leg floating wind power platform is a large floating equipment specifically designed and built for developing deep-sea wind power, consisting of an upper floating body, a subsea anchoring foundation, and a mooring system. The "Haiyou Anlan" is installed at a water depth of 136 meters, 136 kilometers offshore from the Lufeng oil field. With an overall height equivalent to nearly 110 stories, it is equipped with a 16-megawatt typhoon-resistant turbine, designed independently to withstand extreme conditions of a level 17 typhoon, with a service life of 25 years. After the "Haiyou Anlan" goes into operation, it is expected to provide 54 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity to the oil field annually, equivalent to saving 15,000 cubic meters of fuel oil and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 35,000 tons.
