The water level of the Danube River continues to decline, and the Paks Nuclear Power Plant in Hungary will be completely shut down.

In the early hours of August 2, local time, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbn indicated that due to the further decline in the Danube River's water level, one of the last two generators at the Paks Nuclear Power Plant would be shut down at 1:30 AM that day, reducing the plant's output to 240 megawatts. Furthermore, according to Orbn, the nuclear power plant will face its first complete shutdown in 44 years.
