Chairman of the U.S.-China Business Council: American companies are committed to deepening their investment in the Chinese market.
On July 31, Peter P. F. Tan, President of the U.S.-China Business Council, stated in Washington that American companies recognize the advantages of China's economy and innovation system, and are committed to deepening their engagement in the Chinese market and collaborating with Chinese enterprises to enhance their own competitiveness. On the same day, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade organized a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to engage in discussions with the U.S.-China Business Council and its member companies in Washington. Before the discussions, Tan stated in an interview with the media that a significant number of American companies are eager to attend the meeting, interact with their Chinese counterparts, and connect with Chinese firms they may not have engaged with before. Some American company representatives even called him that day to inquire about how to participate in the meeting. Tan emphasized that American businesses are dedicated to deepening their presence in the Chinese market and collaborating with Chinese companies. He noted that not only sectors like agriculture and aviation, but also financial services, life sciences, research and development, and manufacturing are areas where American companies are eager to advance cooperation with China. In his recent communications with executives from American companies, he learned that they recognize the advantages of China's economy and innovation system and are exploring what they can learn from China and how to collaborate with Chinese companies, thereby enhancing their competitiveness not only in the Chinese market but also in other global countries and regions. Tan remarked that American companies see immense cooperation potential arising from Chinese enterprises, technologies, information, and supply chains, and this cooperation is not just limited to China but is also about leveraging these advantages to boost their competitiveness and operational efficiency on a global scale.
