Contemporary Amperex Technology's "sky-high lithium mine" Snoway's environmental impact assessment has been accepted.

Recently, the Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Ecological Environment Bureau accepted the environmental impact assessment documents of the "Snoway Mining Development Co., Ltd. Snoway Mining New Energy Lithium Mine Development Project" and made it public. According to the EIA acceptance announcement, the project is located in Yajiang County and Kangding City in Ganzi Prefecture, with Yajiang County Snoway Mining Development Co., Ltd. as the construction unit. The EIA documents reveal that the mining scale of the Snoway project after completion will reach 1.5 million tons per year. Snoway Mining became famous for its "sky-high lithium mine" battle caused by the auction of 54.2857% of its equity in 2022. In the end, CATL became its 100% controlling shareholder and actual controller through a restructuring plan of over 6.4 billion yuan. The acceptance of this EIA signifies that the mining development has moved from the preliminary preparations stage to the substantive construction preparation stage.
