Wuhan: The city's gross domestic product in the first half of the year was 1,236.42 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.7%.

The Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Wuhan Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics released the economic performance of Wuhan City in the first half of 2026. According to the unified accounting results of the GDP of cities and counties in Hubei Province, the preliminary calculation showed that the total GDP of the city in the first half of the year was 1,1236.42 billion yuan, calculated at constant prices, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year. By industry, the value added of the primary industry increased by 19.83 billion yuan, up 3.3%; the value added of the secondary industry increased by 381.69 billion yuan, up 8.9%; and the value added of the tertiary industry increased by 722.9 billion yuan, up 4.2%.
