In the first half of this year, multiple data points in China's civil aviation sector have shown positive growth.
At yesterday's press conference of the State Council Information Office, the relevant person in charge of the Civil Aviation Administration of China stated that in the first half of this year, despite increasing external adverse factors beyond expectations, the total freight turnover, passenger transport volume, and cargo and mail transport volume of civil aviation have maintained positive growth, which has promoted a good start to the development of the "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan". Han Jun, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, said: In the first quarter, the total freight turnover, passenger transport volume, and cargo and mail transport volume increased by 10.9%, 6.5%, and 9.3% respectively year-on-year. In the second quarter, affected by international high oil prices, the operating costs of the entire industry have increased significantly. The Civil Aviation Administration has actively taken measures to ensure the stable development of the industry. In the first half of the year, the entire industry completed a total freight turnover of 833.7 billion ton-kilometers, passenger transport volume of 380 million, and cargo and mail transport volume of 5.073 million tons, with year-on-year growth of 6.4%, 1.0%, and 6.0%, respectively, maintaining positive growth.
