Recently, the Xi'an Public Security Bureau carried out the special operation "Net Cleaning - 2026" and successfully cracked down on several cases of World Cup gambling, confirming millions of yuan in funds involved. On July 2nd, the cyber security team, in conjunction with the Yanta Branch, uncovered a case of online World Cup gambling, arresting 3 suspects and seizing 3 mobile phones, 1 computer, and various other tools used in the crime. Preliminary investigations revealed that the funds involved in the case amounted to over 8 million yuan. The group made illegal profits by acting as agents for gambling platforms and running private gambling establishments. Gamblers would place bets on the football game scores based on the real-time odds released by the organizers. Currently, 3 suspects who are alleged to have operated gambling establishments have been criminally detained, and legal actions are being taken against the 26 individuals involved in gambling activities.
