This year, the production of humanoid robots in our country is expected to exceed 100,000 units, and the industry is accelerating into a new stage of scaled landing.
The annual meeting of the Committee on Standardization of Humanoid Robots and Embodied Intelligent Technologies of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2026 and the "Standard Week" event will be held in Shaoxing Shangyu District, Zhejiang from July 15th to 17th. "Last year, China's production of humanoid robots was about 20,000 units, and this year, it has already exceeded 40,000 units in the first half of the year. It is estimated that the total production will exceed 100,000 units," said Ke Jixin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Information Technology, at the event. He emphasized that the increase in production volume is just the surface, and the deeper change is that the industry is moving from single machine prototypes and stage displays towards mass delivery, with a significant increase in the synergy between research and development, production, testing, application, and safety governance. He believes that standards should be fully utilized for their fundamental, leading, and supportive roles, leading technological iterations with high-quality standards, supporting the scale application of products, and building a solid foundation for safety.
