According to The Wall Street Journal, a senior executive from Amazon Web Services (AWS) is planning to join Meta Platforms (META.O) in the coming weeks. This move demonstrates that the social media giant Meta is enhancing its ambitions in building data centers and computing resources. Sources revealed that Dave Brown, one of the highest-ranking executives at Amazon Web Services, will bring nearly 20 years of industry experience to Meta and report to Meta's head of infrastructure. Meta CEO Zuckerberg stated at the annual shareholders' meeting in May that expanding their cloud computing business is "definitely on the table." He mentioned that companies "almost every week" reach out to Meta seeking permission to use their AI models or offering a premium for using their unused computing capacity.
