Alibaba's OTA business Fliggy lays off a large number of employees, with the company stating that the proportion of the changes is less than 10%.
Recently, several employees of Fliggy revealed that in June, Fliggy initiated a wave of layoffs involving development, testing, product and other positions, with different proportions in each department. The compensation for employees who were laid off that day is N+1. Alibaba's OTA business Fliggy has conducted a large-scale layoff, with the company stating that the proportion of changes is less than 10%. A laid-off Fliggy employee mentioned that in their transportation business, the proportion of layoffs for testing, development, and product positions varied, but the overall average layoff rate was over 30%. Another current Fliggy employee mentioned that in the new CTO line introduced in December 2025, the layoff rate for the research and development team was as high as 40%-50%; however, the overall layoff rate for the CTO line was around 25%. Another Fliggy employee who is still employed mentioned that in their team of 9 people, 4 people were laid off; they added that based on the number of employees on DingTalk, the number of employees in the CTO line was 1244 before the layoffs, and 916 after the layoffs, resulting in a layoff rate of approximately 26%. The main positions affected were front-end and back-end development and testing, however, by July 9, the number of employees in that business line had slightly increased to 929 people.
