Institution: The dollar is expected to gradually rise against the yen to 165 by the end of the year.
Masahiro Ichikawa, strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management, said that the US dollar could gradually rise towards 165 yen by the end of the year from the current level of around 162.40. Ichikawa said that the yen is likely to remain bearish against the US dollar as he predicts that the US will raise interest rates twice before the end of the year, while Japan will only raise rates once. Meanwhile, as long as the US and Iran avoid a full-scale military conflict, oil prices are expected to decrease. Earlier on Friday, Finance Minister Taro Aso reiterated her intervention warning, stating that the government is prepared to take action if necessary.
