According to customs statistics, in the first half of this year, the total import and export volume of the 9 mainland cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area reached 5.3 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.9%, outpacing the national overall import and export growth rate by 4 percentage points. It accounted for 20.8% of the total import and export value of the country, contributing 24.9% to the national growth during the same period. Among them, exports reached 3.12 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.5%; imports reached 2.18 trillion yuan, an increase of 37.5%. In the month of June, the total import and export volume broke the 1 trillion yuan mark for the first time. In January of this year, the total import and export volume of the 9 mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area increased by 22% to 872.87 billion yuan, setting a new monthly historical high. Following that, in March, April, May, and June, the total import and export volume broke the previous high for 4 consecutive months, with a growth rate of 31.1% in June, reaching a scale of 1.02 trillion yuan for the first time.
