Zheng Shaofeng, former deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, was sentenced to 11 years in prison in the first instance for accepting bribes of more than 17.6 million yuan.
On July 14th, the Intermediate People's Court of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, publicly sentenced Zheng Shaofeng, former Party member and deputy director of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Qiannan Prefecture, and former secretary of the Party Committee of Huishui County, for bribery. Zheng Shaofeng was sentenced to eleven years in prison for the crime of bribery, and fined 1.2 million RMB. The illegal gains and interest obtained from the bribery were confiscated and turned over to the state treasury.
Through trial, it was found that from 2004 to 2024, Zheng Shaofeng, while serving as the Party Secretary of Shuichang Township in Longli County, Director of Investment Promotion Bureau, Director of Development and Reform Bureau, Vice Chairman of Guizhong City Economic Belt Investment and Development Co., Ltd., Deputy Director of Development and Reform Committee of Qiannan Prefecture, Executive Vice Mayor of Fuquan City, Director of Development and Reform Committee of Qiannan Prefecture, and Secretary of Huishui County Party Committee, used his positions to provide assistance to relevant units and individuals in project contracting and fund disbursement. He directly or through others received a total of over 17.6 million RMB in cash and gifts, some of which were not actually obtained.
