Croatia experiences sudden wildfires in many areas, and the fire on the island of Korcula is fierce.
On July 11th local time, forest fires broke out in multiple areas along the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia, with the situation most severe on the island of Korula. Some areas of the island were engulfed in flames and thick smoke, affecting large areas of vegetation. Signs of rapid spread of the fire were observed on the scene. According to local reports, the fire line has exceeded 3 kilometers in length and has spread to nearby pine forests and vineyards. Due to the impact of the fire, some roads on the island have been temporarily closed. The Croatian fire department quickly mobilized forces to extinguish the fire, with three water-bomber aircraft deployed and firefighting personnel on the island as well as reinforcements from the mainland participating in ground rescue efforts. Due to the complex terrain of the island and the influence of sea winds, firefighting efforts face significant challenges. At the same time, other areas of Croatia also reported fires that day, with wildfires appearing in coastal areas such as ibenik-Knin County.
