The Yangtze River Maritime Bureau has upgraded its typhoon emergency response to Level 2.
In order to fully respond to Typhoon No. 9 "Bavi" this year and ensure the safety of waterway transportation on the Yangtze River, the Yangtze River Maritime Safety Administration will upgrade the typhoon defense emergency response to level two starting from 6pm on the 11th.
According to forecasts, from the 11th to the 13th, Typhoon "Bavi" will bring strong winds and rain to the eastern part of Hubei, Jiangxi, Anhui and other areas in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
During the level two emergency response, ships should anchor in safe waters properly and avoid risky navigation; strengthened watch should be maintained while anchoring, anchor chains and ropes must be reinforced, and key equipment conditions should be checked in a timely manner; passenger ships, construction ships, and other key ships must strictly follow the requirements to stop operations and secure equipment.
The Yangtze River maritime authorities have increased consultations and analysis with meteorological departments, using smart management platforms, phones, SMS and other channels to issue warnings and advisories accurately to relevant ships and port companies regarding the typhoon and safety precautions.
