Upon preliminary verification, Zeng is suspected of embezzling public revenue and property performance guarantees during his tenure as deputy director of the community committee. The community committee has reported to the public security organs, and the public security organs have officially filed a case for investigation. According to Knews, in response to recent circulating online images, it has been confirmed that Zeng, who was in charge of finances for the community committee in Lutongqinyuan, Nanchang, disappeared after May 21st this year, and more than 1.6 million RMB was transferred to his personal account. The law firm he belongs to also stated that they have lost contact with him since May and have already reported to the judicial department.
