Beijing's 8th district initiates level 1 emergency response for flood prevention.
According to the meteorological department's assessment, there will be heavy rain and in some areas, torrential rain in Beijing from now until the night of July 11. The rainfall on the morning of the 11th will be intermittent, gradually intensifying in the afternoon, and the relatively significant rainfall period will be from the evening to the night of the 11th. The Beijing Flood Control Office reminds the public that the entire city is still under a level II flood emergency response. Eight districts including Fengtai, Fangshan, Shunyi, Pinggu, Huairou, Miyun, Mentougou, and Yanqing have activated a level I local flood response. The Flood Control Office advises the public to reduce outdoor activities, avoid driving in flooded areas, refrain from going to mountainous or water-related scenic spots and underground commercial establishments, stay away from geological disaster-prone areas and risky areas, and keep an eye on weather warnings and advice.
