Japanese and South Korean stock markets closed higher on Thursday.

The Nikkei 225 index closed up 924.80 points on July 9th, an increase of 1.38%, at 67743.85 points. The South Korean KOSPI index closed up 36.32 points on July 9th, an increase of 0.5%, at 7283.11 points, after recording declines for three consecutive trading days.
