An outbreak of norovirus on a cruise ship in the United States has infected 125 people.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States reported that a norovirus outbreak occurred on the Princess Cruises' "Ruby Princess" which docked in San Francisco on the 2nd. The ship departed from San Francisco on June 12 for a 20-day round trip voyage, during which 102 passengers and 23 crew members were infected with the norovirus and experienced symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. There were over 3000 passengers and more than 1100 crew members on board. The cruise company has implemented enhanced disinfection measures and conducted a thorough cleaning upon docking. Norovirus is a common pathogen that causes acute gastroenteritis, with symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea. The virus is highly contagious and can spread through direct contact with an infected person, contact with contaminated surfaces, or consumption of contaminated food and water.
