The latest study from Omdia shows that the shipment volume of PC (excluding tablets) in the United States in the first quarter of 2026 decreased by 7.0% year-on-year to 15.8 million units, the largest year-on-year decline since the third quarter of 2023. This market downturn was mainly influenced by multiple factors, including supply constraints and cost pressures brought by the sharp increase in PC memory and storage prices, as well as the significant decline in short-term commercial market demand due to the early release of demand after the end of the Windows 11 upgrade cycle. In addition, base effects further amplified the year-on-year decline.
