AMD Adaptive SoC integrates on-package memory for the first time.
AMD has announced the launch of the Versal Premium Gen2 MoP adaptive System-on-Chip, which is the company's first Versal product to use a package-on-package memory architecture. It integrates up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory in a single package, with a maximum bandwidth of 288GB/s. Compared to traditional onboard or discrete LPDDR5X solutions, it achieves a new balance between size and performance. According to AMD, the Versal Gen2 MoP integrates up to four LPDDR5X chips in the package, achieving a maximum capacity of 32GB, a maximum speed of 9000MT/s, and a maximum bandwidth of 288GB/s. Compared to discrete LPDDR5X designs, it can reduce card size by over 60% while providing up to 10x the computing power and supporting a product lifecycle of over 15 years.
