Refinery workers stated that a power outage incident on Sunday caused Venezuela's largest Amuay refinery to shut down, becoming the second refinery in the country to experience a power outage after two deadly earthquakes. The daily production capacity of Amuay is 645,000 barrels. After the earthquakes resulted in at least 1,450 deaths, Venezuela has been working to provide electricity for industrial plants, refineries, businesses, and residents. Another source mentioned that the smaller El Palito refinery in central Venezuela, with a daily production capacity of 146,000 barrels, and the adjacent Moron petrochemical park, were unable to fully resume production due to unstable power supply. The Venezuelan Ministry of Petroleum stated that the earthquakes did not affect the country's crude oil production or exports.
