Honda and Nissan aim to achieve commonality of core components for next-generation vehicles.
According to reports, Honda and Nissan are in the final stages of coordinating the commonization of the core component, the electronic control unit, for the next generation of cars. This move aims to reduce costs through joint development. Despite the breakdown of merger negotiations between the two companies last February, they will still strengthen their relationship through component commonization cooperation. Mitsubishi Motors, in which Nissan has a stake, will also join this cooperation framework and is planning to accept component supplies.
