From January 2025 to May 2026, the procuratorate filed public prosecutions against more than 46,000 individuals involved in drug crimes.

Miao Shengming, member of the Party Group and Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate, introduced that from January 2025 to May 2026, the national procuratorial organs have arrested over 29,000 drug offenders, a decrease of 36% compared to the same period last year; prosecuted over 46,000 drug offenders, a decrease of 30% compared to the same period last year. From the situation of handling cases, affected by various factors such as the infiltration of foreign drugs, the problem of new types of drug crimes and the abuse of unregulated addictive substances is prominent, and continuous efforts are still needed to crack down on drug crimes.
