National Development and Reform Commission: The claim that China's industrial competitiveness is attributed to "subsidies" is completely incorrect.
Recently, international organizations have released reports stating that Chinese companies' global market share in some key areas has mainly benefited from government subsidies. In response to this, a spokesperson for the National Development and Reform Commission said today at a press conference that attributing China's industrial competitiveness simply to "subsidies" is not only too one-sided but also completely wrong. China's industrial competitiveness is the result of the joint efforts of multiple factors.
The spokesperson, Li Chao, stated that China's modern industrial system has been developed through continuous exploration, summary, and improvement in long-term practices. China's industrial competitiveness comes from the intense tempering of a super-large market, the efficient synergy of a complete industrial system, and the long-term accumulation of education, technology, and talent.
Li Chao stated that China has the world's largest, most comprehensive, and most complete manufacturing system. In recent years, "Yiwu quantity production" has become a hot topic on social media, turning whimsical ideas into products in a short period of time, thanks to the strong adaptability, rapid response, and stable delivery capabilities provided by the complete industrial system. Rooted in China, companies within such a system can achieve rapid renewal and upgrade of competitiveness by being able to manufacture anything and make anything well.
China's industrial competitiveness also comes from the continuous optimization of the business environment. China will continue to provide a fair competition and development environment for all types of enterprises, oppose politicizing and instrumentalizing economic and trade issues, and is willing to deepen practical cooperation with all parties to jointly build a secure, stable, smooth, efficient, open, inclusive, and mutually beneficial global industrial and supply chain system.
