Recently, there have been reports that the verified official account "Pick Official Live Room" on Douyin (TikTok) has been involved in issues such as employees being owed wages and sponsorship payments being overdue. A "payment reminder letter" issued by the Chinese Modern Pentathlon Association on August 14, 2025, stated that Pick failed to transfer the relevant sponsorship funds to the association account in accordance with the terms of the "Sponsorship Cooperation Agreement." Screenshots also showed that in January of this year, Xiamen Pick Trading Co., Ltd sent a letter stating that under the "Modern Pentathlon National Team Sponsorship Cooperation Agreement" signed with the Modern Pentathlon Association in 2018, they were supposed to pay 500,000 RMB sponsorship funds before September 30, 2022, but this amount has not been paid yet. The company claimed that this was due to objective changes in the business environment, not their subjective intentions. Regarding the rumors above, on the evening of June 15, Xu Jingnan told Caixin, a financial news outlet under Zhejiang Daily, that the company has not signed any agreements with the "Modern Pentathlon Association," and any agreements circulating online were signed by the association and intermediaries. He stated that he does not know where the screenshots came from and that they are all fake. Additionally, "Pick Official Live Room" had once commented in the comments section that their employees have been owed wages for a year. However, that comment is no longer visible.
