National Bureau of Statistics: Real estate development investment in China totaled 3.0356 trillion yuan from January to May, a year-on-year decrease of 16.2%.

According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to May, the national real estate development investment was 3.036 trillion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 16.2%; of which, residential investment was 2.3426 trillion yuan, a decrease of 15.6%. From January to May, the construction area of real estate development enterprises was 54.8775 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3%. Among them, the construction area of residential buildings was 38.083 million square meters, a decrease of 12.6%. The newly started construction area of buildings was 179.29 million square meters, a decrease of 22.6%. Among them, the newly started construction area of residential buildings was 13.084 million square meters, a decrease of 23.4%. The completed construction area of buildings was 14.087 million square meters, a decrease of 23.4%. Among them, the completed construction area of residential buildings was 9.999 million square meters, a decrease of 25.0%.
