At a large shipbuilding company in Nantong, Jiangsu Province, multiple shipbuilding projects are being carried out in sync in the dock. "Shipbuilding orders are already scheduled until 2030, and ship types have shifted from traditional bulk carriers to large VLCCs and 22,000 TEU container ships," said Wei Jun, vice general manager of a shipbuilding company in Jiangsu. The company is operating at full capacity, with production reaching saturation and the consumption of steel materials increasing significantly. Orders from several surrounding steel mills are also at full capacity, with a shortage of high-end specifications of steel plates.
