Insiders: Tencent Invests in a New Artificial Intelligence Laboratory Founded by Former Chief Researcher Lin Junyang of Alibaba.

According to two informed investors, Tencent Holdings has acquired a stake in a new artificial intelligence laboratory founded by Lin Junyang, the former chief researcher of Alibaba's Tongyi model. The informed sources said that the total size of the first round of financing for the laboratory reached several hundred million dollars, with a post-investment valuation of approximately 2 billion dollars; Tencent contributed 20 million dollars. This round of financing was led by two local venture capital firms, Gao Rong Capital and Sequoia China, each contributing 100 million dollars. The sources added that the current round of financing has just been completed, and Lin Junyang's team is already preparing for the next round of fundraising.
