The Guangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce Development has released a "15th Five-Year Plan" for public consultation. The plan fully aligns with national and provincial planning recommendations and outlines, focusing on the realistic path and needs of enhancing Guangzhou's international trade center functions, and sets forth 18 specific business development indicators for 2030. Among them, three indicators including total retail sales of consumer goods, scale of import and export of goods, and contract execution amount for service outsourcing, are included in the city's planning outline. In addition, based on the development trends of consumption, foreign trade, exhibitions, two-way investment, and ports, the plan has established 15 key and distinctive indicators, including online retail sales of regulated industries, number of world-class business districts, service trade import and export, exhibition areas of key venues, and number of new functional foreign-funded institutions. At the same time, following the practice of higher-level planning, qualitative goals have been proposed for the mid-to-long term in 2035.
