The Likud group announced this news in a brief statement on the same day, but did not disclose more details. Earlier, US President Trump said in an interview with the American Broadcasting Corporation that it was unclear whether Netanyahu planned to run again. The Likud group later issued the above statement in response. The Israeli parliamentary elections were originally scheduled to be held no later than October 27th this year.
