SoftBank has pledged to invest up to 75 billion euros in France to build a vast artificial intelligence computing cluster network to support the largest data center project in Europe. This commitment marks the largest artificial intelligence investment made by SoftBank Group, owned by Masayoshi Son, outside of the United States, and also provides a boost to French President Macron's "Choose France" event next week. The event is an annual summit that brings together various dealmakers and corporate executives. According to sources, Macron and Son reached this deal shortly after having dinner together in Tokyo in early April. Son said, "SoftBank is honored to make this significant commitment to France. With its industrial strength, talent pool, and national ambition, France has unique advantages and is poised to become a leading artificial intelligence infrastructure center in Europe."
