Since 2025, the Beijing police have relied on the "public security + administrative" law enforcement cooperation mechanism to carry out multiple crackdown and rectification actions against fraudulent medical insurance funds and illegal resale of medical insurance reclaimed drugs. As of now, the overall situation has cracked more than 70 related cases, and more than 400 criminal suspects have been taken into custody through criminal coercive measures. It is understood that the Beijing police have insisted on cracking down on illegal activities related to medical insurance funds in accordance with the law, identifying six key areas to combat, including illegal resale of medical insurance reclaimed drugs, fictitious medical services to embezzle medical insurance funds, etc. In 2025, the Municipal Food and Drug Administration received a report from the Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau that a certain nursing station colluded with a medical institution to forge drug prescriptions to defraud medical insurance funds. In response to this, the Municipal Food and Drug Administration, together with the medical insurance bureau and other departments, quickly launched an investigation into the case. On November 14 of the same year, based on sufficient evidence of the criminal gang, the Municipal Food and Drug Administration organized the local public security sub-bureau to arrest the gang members, capturing more than 20 criminal suspects and taking criminal coercive measures in accordance with the law. The case is currently under further trial. In response to the characteristics of the chain and gang-like nature of illegal resale of medical insurance reclaimed drugs, the Beijing police adhere to the concept of "coordinated organization, targeted cases, and multi-district coordination" in carrying out a strict crackdown on the entire chain. In December 2025, based on meticulous preliminary investigation, the Municipal Food and Drug Administration coordinated relevant units to concentrate on the arrest of a criminal gang led by Nie who was involved in the illegal resale of medical insurance reclaimed drugs. The case is currently under further trial. Next, the Beijing police will continue to intensify efforts to crack down on illegal activities related to medical insurance funds, while simultaneously strengthening joint enforcement and publicity, to ensure that special operations achieve greater effectiveness and resolutely protect the vital interests of the people.
