As the world's largest bauxite producer, Guinea plans to announce related reform measures next month to control the export amount of this ore used in the manufacturing of aluminum, as it is currently trying to boost aluminum prices. Bauxite production in Guinea accounts for more than one-third of global production. By 2025, the country's bauxite exports are expected to increase by a quarter, reaching 183 million tons; and in the first three months of this year, export growth has further accelerated. According to Guinea's Minister of Mining and Geology, Boubacar Sira, this situation has led to a downturn in the market, with bauxite prices plummeting by nearly half from their peak in early last year. Sira stated, "Supply must not exceed demand. We hope to regulate the export quantity to bring the price back to a reasonable level." The minister revealed that the government is expected to officially finalize this new policy in June - a policy that had already been hinted at several months ago.
