On the morning of May 25th, Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council met with Serbian President Vucic, who is visiting China for state affairs at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Li Keqiang stated that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Serbia. In recent years, the leaders of China and Serbia have maintained close and good communication, providing strategic guidance and important guarantees for the development of bilateral relations. This afternoon, President Xi Jinping will meet with President Vucic to further plan the construction of a community of shared future between China and Serbia in the new era. China is willing to continue working with Serbia to be reliable partners, firmly support each other's core interests, promote deeper cooperation in various fields, better serve the modernization of both countries, and bring more benefits to the people of the two countries. Li Keqiang pointed out that China is willing to strengthen strategic alignment with Serbia, make better use of mechanisms such as the Sino-Serbian Economic and Trade Joint Committee, and expand bilateral cooperation in trade and investment by further releasing the positive effects of the bilateral free trade agreement. China is willing to import more high-quality products from Serbia, support more Chinese enterprises with strength to invest in Serbia, expand cooperation in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, new energy, advanced manufacturing, and green low-carbon, and empower the development of both countries. The Hungary-Serbia railway is a flagship project to build the "Belt and Road Initiative", and China is willing to work with Serbia to maintain and operate the Serbian section of the railway, actively promote the early opening of the entire line. Both sides should deepen cultural cooperation in tourism, education, sports, media, and promote mutual understanding among the people. In the current complex and evolving international situation, China is willing to strengthen coordination and cooperation with Serbia on platforms such as the United Nations, practice true multilateralism, promote the implementation of the four major global initiatives, and build a more just and reasonable global governance system. Vucic stated that China is a steadfast friend of Serbia, and the friendship between Serbia and China is deep, with both countries always trusting and supporting each other. President Xi Jinping made a successful state visit to Serbia in 2016, injecting powerful momentum into the deepening development of bilateral relations. Serbia firmly adheres to the one-China principle and will continue to provide firm support on issues concerning China's core interests. China's investment and cooperation have effectively promoted Serbia's development. Serbia congratulates China on its great achievements in economic and social development and is willing to maintain high-level exchanges with China, further leverage the dividends of the bilateral free trade agreement, deepen cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, food, infrastructure construction, artificial intelligence, and clean energy, and promote exchanges in education, tourism, media, and other cultural fields. Serbia is willing to closely communicate and cooperate with China in multilateral affairs, firmly uphold multilateralism, and defend international fairness and justice.
