The Ebola outbreak in the Congo continues to worsen.

The government of the Republic of Congo said on the 23rd that the suspected cases of the new round of Ebola epidemic in the country have risen to 867, with 204 suspected cases that have resulted in death. The airport in the capital of Ituri Province, Bunia, the hardest hit area of the epidemic, has temporarily suspended all passenger flights in and out of the port. The Ministry of Health of Congo issued a notice stating that the epidemic in Ituri Province is spreading further, with confirmed cases also reported in the neighboring North Kivu Province and further south in South Kivu Province.
