According to the financial news app CINNO Research, in the first quarter of 2026, the sales volume of China's smartphone market reached 70.68 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 6% and a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 5%. The main reason is the shortage of memory combined with a 10% to 30% price increase for new phones, leading to consumers extending their phone replacement cycle to over 36 months. Some essential needs were brought forward to March 2026 before the price increase, creating a negative cycle of "demand pre-funding - sales overdraft." It is expected that the domestic market sales volume will continue to decline from the second quarter to the fourth quarter of 2026.
