Wang Yi will preside over a high-level meeting of the United Nations Security Council and visit Canada.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced: China, as the rotating president of the United Nations Security Council this month, will host a high-level meeting of the Security Council on May 26 with the theme of "Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter, Strengthening the UN-Centered International System". Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will travel to New York to chair the meeting. During his time in New York, Foreign Minister Wang Yi will also attend the "Group of Friends on Global Governance" meeting on May 28, and hold meetings with the Secretary-General of the United Nations and foreign ministers of relevant countries. Upon the invitation of Canadian Foreign Minister Anand, Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit Canada from May 28 to May 30.
