On May 22, S&P responded to the issuer's request to withdraw the "A-" long-term and "A-2" short-term issuance ratings of The Bank of East Asia Ltd (commonly known as "East Asia Bank", stock code 00023.HK) for its $2 billion multi-currency medium-term note program (conducted through its Singapore branch).
